Kerry Hutchins is an experienced elementary educator and school leader with a career spanning classroom teaching, elementary mathematics coaching, school administration, and building leadership. She currently serves as an Elementary Principal with Norwood Public Schools, a role she has held since 2022. In this position, Kerry collaborates with teachers, staff, families, and district leaders to analyze student data, strengthen instruction, support student needs, and create a positive and supportive school environment.
Before becoming a principal, Kerry served as an Assistant Principal at George R. Martin Elementary School in Seekonk, where she supported schoolwide systems including student support, professional development, teacher evaluation, PBIS, social-emotional learning, scheduling, discipline, and family engagement. She also served as a school-level administrator for a virtual learning academy and led the Student Support Team.
Kerry's background also includes extensive experience in elementary mathematics instruction and coaching. As a Math Coach in Attleboro Public Schools, she worked alongside teachers to strengthen content knowledge and pedagogy, align instruction with standards, analyze student work and achievement data, support intervention, and design and deliver professional development focused on research-based instructional practices.
Earlier in her career, Kerry taught sixth-grade mathematics at Morton Middle School in Fall River, where she provided differentiated instruction, supported curriculum development, and used student achievement data to identify and address learning gaps. She has also taught Mathematics for Elementary Teachers at Bristol Community College.
Kerry holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Lasell University and a Master of Education in Elementary Mathematics from Lesley University. She also completed an Assistant Principal/Principal Licensure Program through Curry College.

Outside of education, Kerry enjoys spending time with her two teenage boys, especially outdoors and on the water. Block Island is her happy place, and she is an avid runner who enjoys participating in local 5Ks and the occasional half marathon.
