Riverside Learning is seeking experienced educators, instructional leaders, curriculum specialists, and subject-area experts to join our team as Content Writers – Courses. This role is ideal for professionals who have a strong understanding of both their content area and how adults learn. Our courses are designed to encourage educators to explore new ideas, reflect on their practice, engage with meaningful content, and apply their learning to their own professional settings.
Course Writers will work collaboratively with Riverside Learning to develop courses that are practical, relevant, accessible, and intellectually engaging for educators.
Content Writers – Courses may be responsible for:
Developing content for Riverside Learning's online, asynchronous, and graduate-level courses.
Designing course modules and lessons that follow clear learning objectives and a logical progression.
Translating educational research, theory, and professional expertise into accessible and engaging course content.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality professional learning.
The ability to work independently, manage project responsibilities, and meet established deadlines.
We're looking for educators who can turn expertise into an experience.
A great Course Writer doesn't simply know a topic—they know how to help someone else learn it. Our writers understand that effective online professional learning should be more than a collection of readings and assignments. It should invite educators to think deeply, make connections, reflect on their practice, and try something new.
We value writers who bring creativity, strong educational knowledge, practical experience, and a genuine understanding of the educators we serve. Whether your expertise is in literacy, mathematics, special education, educational leadership, early childhood, multilingual learners, instructional practice, assessment, technology, or another area of education, Riverside Learning wants to help you share that expertise with educators beyond your own school or district.
Riverside Learning Course Writers serve as Project-Based Associates. Work is offered on an individual project or contract basis based on Riverside Learning's current needs, available projects, and alignment with a writer's expertise.
Selection as a Riverside Learning Course Writer does not guarantee projects, assignments, hours, compensation, or ongoing work. Each project will have its own expectations, scope, timeline, and compensation, which will be communicated and agreed upon before work begins.
