Timothy McLaughlin is an experienced Massachusetts educational leader with a passion for building exceptional school cultures where students and educators thrive. He currently serves as Principal of Nichols Middle School in the Middleboro Public Schools, bringing a collaborative leadership style focused on student success, staff development, and creating positive, high-performing learning communities.
Before joining Middleboro Public Schools in 2025, Tim served as Principal of Jacobs Elementary School in the City of New Bedford and previously as Principal in the West Bridgewater Public Schools. Throughout his leadership career, he has earned a reputation for strengthening school culture, developing innovative student programming, and building outstanding educational teams through strategic hiring and mentorship.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Educational Leadership from the University of New England. He also completed 36 doctoral credits toward an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at Liberty University. He maintains Massachusetts educator licenses as a Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent, Supervisor/Director, Principal/Assistant Principal, and Teacher, with teaching licensure in both middle and high school history.

Tim's commitment to education was inspired by his service in the United States Army, where witnessing the challenges faced by children in underserved communities overseas reinforced his belief that education is one of the most powerful tools for changing lives. Outside of work, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, cheering on the New England Patriots, fishing, and traveling to Florida.
